Lluis's olive oil
Oh, olive oil… Anyone who knows a little about Spanish culture knows how essential olive oil is to us, both in terms of consumption and production. My grandparents produced olive oil for decades on their land just twenty minutes drive inland from Tarragona. Every November the whole family would get together for the harvest, which was done by hand. After they passed away, the fields fell into disrepair because nowadays we all live in the city and cannot tend the olive groves. In order to offer you a small sample of the oil from our ancestral village, we contacted Lluis, a young man who has decided to sacrifice city life and a good income to continue the arduous work of his parents. He produces high quality oil in the interior of Tarragona. You'll find this oil spicy, fruity and grassy - a strong taste compared to many oils found on sale in the UK.
