Kinnie and Twistees! A perfect combination after a day at the beach when you’re relaxing on your balcony watching the sun set across the seafront… The slight bitterness and citrus of Kinnie matches a salty cheesy crunch. I have to bring back suitcases of Twistees for my friends who are all now converts!

You can’t really move without seeing an advert for one of them on a bus, bus stop or shop front. The Maltese are very proud of these unique national products; and they are greatly missed by ex-pats, And, whilst Twistees and Kinnie are exported in small amounts, the reality is that the vast majority of items in Malta - from food, to clothing, to infrastructure - have to be imported to this small island nation.
